The Garter Girl Creates a Custom Garter Made with Mother of the Bride's Dress
I have pretty pictures to share today of a custom wedding garter that I recently designed for a bride using the lace from her mother’s wedding dress. This was a bit of a funny story of how this bride came to me and I ended up designing her custom wedding garter.
First, she purchased my exquisite wedding garter style, which is made with the lace from a vintage wedding dress. A few minutes after she purchased this wedding garter, she emailed me and asked if I made custom garters (Yes!) and could I make the garter using her mother’s wedding dress (Yes!).
Flash forward a few weeks, her mother sent me her wedding dress and I was busy making the bride a wedding garter! The mother’s wedding dress was perfect for the exquisite wedding garter style as I was able to make her the same style of wedding garter with the something blue satin and ivory pearl details, but I used the lace from her mother’s wedding dress. It was perfect and turned out beautifully!

We were planning to get married in Hilton Head the weekend hurricane Matthew hit. After being evacuated from the island two days before our wedding with the help of the big man above all our vendors came together and moved our wedding to Atlanta where my parents live in 48 hours. So as crazy as it sounds those images are of a wedding that was planned and executed in two days.
My grandmother (Dad's mom) who is in some of the wedding images in a wheelchair and black sequin top made my mom's wedding dress. My grandmother was a wedding dress designer back in the day so when it came time for my parents to marry she made the dress. So the garter has so much meaning not only about my mom but also about my grandmother.
