Massachusetts Wedding by The Chattmans

Susie and Tory's wedding is a beautiful reflection of old romance. They drew inspiration from love that had come before them - love that had made it through war and life and still flourished. Susie's grandfather's words were trickled throughout their wedding details, but it's easy to see that these words live in Susie and Tory's hearts also.

From Susie, "I'm a sentimental girl and my husband is a bit of a softy himself. We wanted to honor the relationships that made us who we are and in turn brought us together. It all began with letters we were reading one day that my Grandfather sent to my Grandmother in World War II. Dearest Betty... they all started with and continued with sweet words of his love for her."

"My now husband was inspired to write a song about those letters and we used those words of the song on slate signs hanging through out the moss pathway that guests walk through to get to the ceremony. Our ring pillow was a stack of those letters as well. Our Save the Dates were designed after a telegram that my Grandmother received telling her that my Grandfather was finally coming home from the war and our invitations resembled the letters with a flower pressed into them. There were a million of these details that many guests probably didn't even notice but they were important to us. Our wedding day was a celebration of our love but also our parents and grandparents, who truly showed us how to love and respect your partner throughout a marriage."  

Susie is also an event planner and florist and her love for love clearly shines through in her work. 

Maya Angelou said, 'I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.' I love what I do because I feel that all the details that are created for an event add up to create an amazing feeling. Some guests don't even see the details but they feel something and they don't even know why. I feel so lucky that I was able to do that for my own wedding.
